Our Story

After serving as an airplane mechanic in the United States military, Charlie Brown returned to Northeast Missouri and started Brown's Furniture in 1949. From Brown's first location in downtown Palmyra, Missouri, Charlie built a reputation for providing quality products and a culture of taking care of the customer. As Brown's Furniture expanded to serve Northeast Missouri, Southeast Iowa, and West-Central Illinois, the surrounding area quickly came to know that "People drive from miles around to buy their furniture from Charlie Brown! There must be a reason!"

Following these same principles today, Charlie's grandson, Tav, now operates Brown's two locations in Palmyra and Shelbina, Missouri. Brown's Furniture's continued commitment to serving the Tri-State Area with excellence has allowed them to be recognized with the following designations:
